We recently had the pleasure of attending the Yoga Darśana Yoga Sādhana conference in Paris, France. This was the third time we’ve attended and presented at the conference. We were previously in Krakow, Poland in 2022, and Hamburg, Germany in 2024.
The conference brings together the field of yogic studies in a truly signifiant way. We are humbled to be a part of it! This year we heard many inspiring lectures including a keynote from Mark Singleton. His book Yoga Body transformed yoga scholarship as well as the overall understanding of yoga practice in a significant way. We have a feeling his new book on technology will again offer many new ways of thinking about yoga.
Another keynote lecture was from Christian Novetzke and Sunila Kale. Their recent book The Yoga of Power is also making waves in yoga scholarship and beyond.
As always, the conference featured a lot of discussion on translation including the recent work of preparing a critical edition of the Haṭha Pradīpikā. Mantras also were on display through the work of the MANTRAMS project team.
With four panels on at all times, there was no chance of soaking in everything that the conference had to offer. That being said, we are full of inspiration and ideas following the conference. We look forward to the next conference in 2028!

What is Mother Nation? I am so curious about this. Do you have any papers I can read? Thank you, Ida!
